3/8″ Male x 1/4″ Female NPT Steel Hex Bushing
This galvanized steel hex bushing facilitates a connection between 3/8″ and 1/4″ NPT piping. Each steel hex bushing uses larger 3/8″ male NPT threads and smaller 1/4″ female NPT threads to connect piping of varying sizes or act as a reducer in a fire sprinkler system.
When installed, this hex bushing can withstand temperatures of up to 450F (232C). This 3/8″ x 1/4″ hex head bushing has been finished with an electrodeposited zinc coating per ASTM B633 to resist corrosion.
Where can I use this hex head bushing?
In accordance with NFPA 13, this 3/8″ (9.5 mm) threaded insert is compatible with any fire sprinkler system using 1/4″ steel piping to:
- Make a change in the size of piping
- Reduce the size of openings of fittings when standard fittings of the required size are unavailable
This hex head bushing may also be used in non-fire plumbing applications, including hot-water applications with temperatures as high as 450F (232C).
This 3/8″ x 1/4″ hex head bushing also meets a wide variety of manufacturing and installation standards, including:
- NFPA 13 (section 6.4.7)
- ASME B16.3
- ASME B16.14
- ASTM B 633
- ASTM A395
- ASME C1215
