Bleeder Valve attaches to 1/4" female NPT outlets, releasing trapped air or debris from water-based systems with a durable brass ball valve. Designed for use with a pressure test cap, proper use of this bleeder valve protects gauges used in static pressure tests of fire hydrants, fire hose, and more.
Bleeder Valve directs water to one of two 1/4" (6.35 mm) female NPT (FNPT) outlets: the bleeder port, which releases water through a durable 1/4" (6.35 mm) ball valve, or the gauge port. Opening the ball valve permits bleeding, while closing the valve directs pressure to a mounted gauge (sold separately).
To conduct pressure tests using this Bleeder Valve, connect it, along with an appropriate gauge and test cap, to the hydrant or other outlet. With the bleeder open, begin flowing water. After purging air and debris, close the ball valve to direct the flow to the gauge. When testing concludes, protect your gauge against overpressurization by re-opening the ball valve before shutting off the supply of water.
