Test Cap Bleeder Valve attaches to 1/4" (6.35 mm) female National Pipe Thread (NPT) outlets, releasing trapped air or debris from water-based systems. Designed for use with a test cap, this bleeder includes two ball valves for complete control over the distribution of pressure, preventing damage to the pressure gauge.
This Test Cap Bleeder Valve directs water to one of two 1/4" female NPT (FNPT) outlets: the bleeder port or the gauge port. Bleeder valves are an important part of a complete cap gauge assembly for static pressure tests of fire hoses, fire hydrants, and other water-based systems.
To conduct static pressure tests using this Test Cap Bleeder Valve, connect it, along with an appropriate gauge and test cap, to the hydrant or another outlet. With the bleeder ball valve open, begin flowing water. After purging air and debris, close the bleeder ball valve and open the valve leading to the pressure gauge. When testing concludes, protect your gauge against pressure surges by re-opening the bleeder valve before shutting off the supply of water.
