Victaulic V27 Residential Fast Response Concealed Pendent Fire Sprinkler delivers decorative, competitively-priced defense against fire in ordinary hazard residential occupancies such as homes, apartments, dormitories, and hotels. Using a heat-activated 3mm glass bulb, this automatic fire sprinkler opens when ambient temperatures reach 155F (68C), reducing the likelihood of flashover and facilitating safe evacuation. Designed with residential applications in mind, the 4.9K orifice makes efficient use of available water supplies in smaller sprinkler systems.
Low-profile cover plates mount flush to the ceiling and are available with a white or chrome-plated finish, as well as a flat-black or custom finish by special order. When temperatures near the ceiling reach 135F (57C), the soldered cover plate detaches, exposing the head of the Victaulic V27 concealed pendent fire sprinkler, which activates when temperatures reach 155F (68C).
The Victaulic Model V27 has a 4.9 K-Factor and installs with 1/2" (12.7 mm) National Pipe Thread (NPT), used in fire sprinkler systems throughout the United States. This Residential Fast Response Fire Sprinkler features a die-cast brass frame, bronze deflector, and a cold-rolled steel cup. Pendent sprinklers direct the water stream downward against the deflector to distribute water in a hemispherical spray pattern. The frame is cast with a hex-shaped wrench boss to make installation and tightening from many angles easy..
This 155F (68C) temperature rating strikes a balance between a fire sprinkler that activates too soon, causing accidental discharge, and too late. 155F (68C) Residential Fast Response Fire Sprinklers can be installed to wet and dry pipe fire sprinkler systems, and are preferred for use in one and two-family dwellings, apartments, duplexes, and boarding houses when a low profile is desirable. The Victaulic Model V27 is also a suitable choice for installation in many college dormitories, condominiums, and nursing homes.
With a maximum working pressure of 175 PSI (12.1 BAR), this pendent sprinkler hangs from above-ceiling piping behind a decorative cover plate and may be installed and used in accordance with NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, NFPA 13D and local fire code. Each Model V27 sprinkler is made by Victaulic, a global manufacturer with more than a half-century in the fire protection industry.
This product is UL-listed, and appropriate for use in fire protection systems when accepted by the authority having jurisdiction. In accordance with NFPA 13, a higher temperature rating may be required when installing a residential fast response fire sprinkler in or near heat sources, unventilated spaces, uncovered steam mains, or uninsulated rooftops. Concealed pendent sprinklers should not be installed where the air pressure above the ceiling is greater than the pressure below, which may prevent or delay sprinkler activation in the event of a fire.
