Viking Freedom Residential Concealed Pendent (VK494) Fire Sprinkler Head

This Viking Freedom Residential Concealed Pendent Fire Sprinkler features a glass bulb activating at 155F (68C) with a 4.9 K-Factor, and 1/2 in. NPT threads. Each concealed pendent head features a brass body and bronze deflector. The Sprinkler Identification Number (SIN) is VK494. This is a residential response, standard coverage sprinkler with a maximum working water pressure of 175 PSI.

The VK494 concealed pendent fire sprinkler delivers effective, affordable defense in residential occupancies, such as apartment, hotel, or house fire sprinkler systems. Using a heat-activated glass bulb assembly, this automatic fire sprinkler opens when ambient temperatures reach 155F (68C), drenching the area surrounding a fire to keep it in its place of origin. When using Viking Residential Concealed Pendent Sprinkler VK494 for systems designed to NFPA 13D or NFPA 13R, apply the listed areas of coverage and minimum water supply requirements shown in the Approval Chart in the datasheet. This concealed pendent head has a maximum working pressure of 175 PSI (12.1 BAR) UL and connects to wet piping systems.

Viking Freedom Residential Concealed Pendent (VK494) Sprinkler Installation and Other Information

During installation be aware that over tightening will cause permanent damage to the 1/2 in. NPT threads and/or the fire sprinklers themselves. Use the manufacturer approved installation wrench and tighten to a maximum torque of 14 ft-lb (19 N-m). Refer to the data sheet for additional storage and installation information.

This residential concealed pendent sprinkler is available at a 155F (68C) and 200F (93C), temperature. To select your temperature, visit the “Options” section at the top of this product page. Additionally, use the Cover Plate option to select a Cover Plate finish and temperature.

The VK494 listed accessories include the approved Viking Wrench (part no. 24339), the Viking cap removal tool (part no. 24340), the cover plate installation tool(s) for large and small diameter covers (part no. 14412, 14867), and the approved Viking Cover(s) (part no. 23190, 23174), which are available in two diameters and a variety of finishes.
