Viking Micromatic Standard Response Brass Horizontal Sidewall Fire Sprinkler delivers simple, economical fire suppression in ordinary hazard commercial occupancies such as universities, auditoriums, churches, and parking garages. Using a heat-activated 5mm glass bulb, this automatic fire sprinkler activates when the surrounding air reaches 155F (68C), drenching the area surrounding a fire to keep it in its place of origin.
The Viking Micromatic has a 5.6 K-Factor and installs with 1/2" (15 mm) National Pipe Thread (NPT), used in fire sprinkler systems throughout the United States. This Standard Response Fire Sprinkler features a brass finish, brass frame, brass screw, copper deflector, and a spring sealing assembly made with nickel alloy and PTFE tape.
With a discharge temperature of 155F (68C), these sprinklers activate early enough to provide robust protection to people and property while reducing the risk of accidental discharge. 155F (68C) Standard Response Fire Sprinklers are preferred for use in cafeterias, auditoriums, convention centers and other gathering spaces where human safety is the first priority. The Viking Micromatic is a multi-purpose head suitable for use in covered horse stables, canneries, and many industrial applications.
With a maximum working pressure of 175 PSI (12.1 BAR), this horizontal sidewall sprinkler installs on a wall or the side of a beam where ceiling piping is not desirable and may be installed and used in accordance with NFPA 13 and local fire code. This product is UL & FM approved, and appropriate for use in fire protection systems when accepted by the authority having jurisdiction. In accordance with NFPA 13, a higher temperature rating may be required when installing a standard response fire sprinkler in or near heat sources, unventilated spaces, uncovered steam mains, or uninsulated rooftops.
