Viking Mirage Cleanroom Fire Sprinkler Cover Plate

Viking Mirage Cleanroom (Label No: 23177A) White Fire Sprinkler Cover Plate with 135F (57C) activation temperature. This fire sprinkler cover works with certain Viking concealed fire sprinklers.  The Mirage Cleanroom cover facilitates timely activation of these Viking concealed fire sprinkler heads with a temperature rating of 135F (57C) or 165F (74C). This cover plate is intended for use in cleanroom environments – the silicone cover gasket is pre-assembled with the concealed cover for an acceptable sprinkler seal for us in a cleanroom or clean zone. The outer diameter of this cover is 3-5/16 in. This Viking cover plate is available with a 1/2 in. adjustment.

The Viking Mirage Cleanroom cover plate is a flat concealed cover plate used with compatible sprinklers.  It provides a thread-on connection into the sprinklers cup. This cover plate is available in four finishes. These finishes include Polished Chrome, Painted White, Painted Ivory, and Painted Black.  Along with these base finishes, for an additional fee Viking will custom paint this cover in any finish you prefer. Viking Mirage Cleanroom Cover Plate Sprinkler Head Compatibility and Listings

This Sprinkler Head Cover Plate from Viking may be listed by UL, FM, and/or other organizations depending on the sprinkler it’s being used with. It meets the requirements of a sprinkler assembly per NFPA 13, where approved by the local Authority Having Jurisdiction. It installs by simply threading the cover into the sprinkler’s frame, and can be adjusted up to 1/2 in. The recommended hole diameter when installing sprinkler heads using this cover is 2-1/4 in.

To remove your existing cover plate, gently twist the cover to the left while applying downward pressure by pulling gently as you turn.

When this fire sprinkler cover plate reaches its specified temperature of 135F (57C) or 165F (74C) the solder holding the plate's decorative exterior on the frame melts, and the two separate. For many cover plates, the rated temperature is at least 20F (6.7C) cooler than the sprinkler head's activation temperature, which ensures that the cover plate detaches early enough to allow the sprinkler to activate on time. However, each manufacturer's product line varies slightly, and cover plate temperatures may be closer to or further away from the fire sprinkler's activation temperature. Use only the cover plate approved by the manufacturer for your specific sprinkler.
