Viking VK466 Residential Fast Response White Pendent Fire Sprinkler delivers powerful, affordable fire suppression in ordinary hazard residential occupancies such as homes, apartments, dormitories, and hotels. Using a heat-activated 3mm glass bulb, this automatic fire sprinkler opens when ambient temperatures reach 155F (68C), supporting rescue and evacuation efforts by lowering ambient temperatures. Designed with residential applications in mind, the 5.2K orifice makes efficient use of available water supplies in smaller sprinkler systems.
Viking's Freedom Residential Pendent Sprinklers are designed to be unobtrusive, fast-acting, and capable of providing coverage of up to 20 feet by 20 feet (6.1 m x 6.1 m). Designed with residential applications in mind, the 5.2K orifice makes efficient use of available water supplies in smaller sprinkler systems.
The Viking Model VK466 has a 5.2 K-Factor and installs with 1/2" (12.7 mm) National Pipe Thread (NPT), used in fire sprinkler systems throughout the United States. This Residential Fast Response Fire Sprinkler features a white finish, brass frame, brass screw, brass or phosphor bronze deflector, and a spring sealing assembly made with nickel alloy and PTFE tape.
This 155F (68C) temperature rating strikes a balance between a fire sprinkler that activates too soon, causing accidental discharge, and too late. 155F (68C) Residential Fast Response Fire Sprinklers can be installed to wet and dry pipe fire sprinkler systems, and are preferred for use in one and two-family dwellings, apartments, duplexes, and boarding houses. The Viking Model VK466 is also a suitable choice for installation in many college dormitories, condominiums, and nursing homes.
With a maximum working pressure of 155 PSI (10.7 BAR), this pendent sprinkler hangs from above-ceiling piping and may be installed and used in accordance with NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, NFPA 13D and local fire code. This product is UL-listed, and appropriate for use in fire protection systems when accepted by the authority having jurisdiction. In accordance with NFPA 13, a higher temperature rating may be required when installing a residential fast response fire sprinkler in or near heat sources, unventilated spaces, uncovered steam mains, or uninsulated rooftops.
