6" Grooved Mechanical Tee with a 1 1/4" FNPT Threaded Outlet secures to pipe to provide a quick and easy mid-point branch outlet in a variety of piping systems, including fire sprinkler systems, plumbing, standpipe systems, and HVAC applications. The threaded opening in this mechanical tee seats over a pre-drilled hole in pipe, forming a water-tight seal with an EPDM rubber gasket.
This UL and FM-approved 6" Grooved Mechanical Tee with a 1 1/4" FNPT Threaded Outlet features a ductile iron body conforming to ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12. This mechanical tee features a threaded outlet for 1 1/4" (31.75 mm) pipe with National Pipe Thread (NPT). Two pairs of carbon steel 300 PSI (2.07 MPa) nuts and bolts facilitate quick installation.
To install this 6" Grooved Mechanical Tee with a 1 1/4" FNPT Threaded Outlet, first drill a hole in the pipe, ensuring that a 5/8-inch area around the hole is clear of dirt, rust, and grease. Lubricate the exposed surface of the gasket and place it in the mechanical tee, ensure that the tab in the gasket aligns with the recesses in the house. Then, install the tee over the hole, ensuring that the locating collar engages the outlet hole. Tighten the nuts evenly until the required torque is reached.
