Viking™ Microfast Quick Response Horizontal Sidewall (VK305) Fire Sprinkler Head
This Viking™ Microfast QR Sidewall Fire Sprinkler features a glass bulb activating at 155F (68C) with a 5.6 K-Factor, and 1/2 in. NPT threads. Each horizontal sidewall head features a brass frame and copper deflector. The Sprinkler Identification Number (SIN) is VK305. This is a quick response, standard coverage sprinkler with a maximum working water pressure of 175 PSI. This sprinkler can serve as a fire sprinkler head replacement or when installing a new commercial building sprinkler system.
The VK300 sidewall sprinkler delivers effective, affordable defense against fire in light and ordinary (UL) hazard occupancies. Using a heat-activated glass bulb assembly, this automatic fire sprinkler opens when ambient temperatures reach 155F (68C), drenching the area surrounding a fire to keep it in its place of origin. Each Microfast QR sidewall sprinkler is made by Viking™, a global leader in fire protection manufacturing for nearly 100 years. When installed properly, this fire sprinkler head maintains listings and approvals from cULus (Category VNIV) and FM (Class Series 2020). Refer to the datasheet for listings and approvals in specific temperatures and/or applications.
Quick Response Horizontal Sprinkler VK305 is cULus Listed for installation in accordance with the latest edition of NFPA 13 for sidewall standard spray sprinklers. Designed for use in Light and Ordinary Hazard occupancies.
Horizontal Sidewall Sprinkler VK305 is FM Approved as a quick response non-Storage sidewall sprinkler.
This sidewall sprinkler head has a maximum working pressure of 175 PSI (12.1 BAR) UL, FM and connects to wet piping systems.
Viking™ Microfast (VK305) QR Horizontal Sidewall Sprinkler Installation and Other Information
During installation be aware that over tightening will cause permanent damage to the 1/2 in. NPT threads and/or the fire sprinklers themselves. Use the manufacturer approved installation wrench and tighten to a maximum torque of 14 ft-lb (19 N-m). Refer to the data sheet for additional storage and installation information.
This horizontal sidewall sprinkler features a brass finish and a 155F (68C) temperature. Available finish options include Brass, Chrome, White, and Black. White Polyester Painted (White), and Flat Black Polyester Painted (Black) are UL Listed as corrosion resistant. Temperature options include 135F (57C), 155F (68C), 175F (79C), 200F (93C), and 286F (141C). Finish and temperature combinations available in the “Options” section at the top of this product page.
The VK305 listed accessories include the approved Viking™ Wrench (part no. 21475M/B), Viking™ Recessed Wrench (part no. 13655W/B), and the approved Viking™ Escutcheon(s).
