These green finished aluminum breakable caps can be broken with a butt of an axe for quick and easy access to the FDC. With an outside diameter of 4-1/8 in. and an ear-to-ear length of 5-3/8 in., this cap perfectly fits 3 in. FDC connections, common in New York and San Francisco.

This Breakable Cap is available in 2-1/2 in. (pack of two) and 3 in. (pack of one). The 3 in. cap is typically only compatible with FDCs in New York City and San Francisco, with a few exceptions. Most FDCs in the U.S.A. are 2-1/2 in. The 2-1/2 in. caps are available in plastic or aluminum, both of which can be easily broken if necessary.
