The nozzle is suitable for use on vertical, horizontal, curved, or irregular surfaces where heat exposure is a concern. Installation and Maintenance
Installation must follow the manufacturer’s instructions and the applicable fire protection standards. Apply thread sealant to the 1/2 in. NPT connection and hand-tighten the nozzle before using the specified wrench to finish tightening to the recommended torque. Excessive torque can distort the inlet and cause leakage. Position the deflector exactly as shown on the design drawings to achieve the intended spray pattern. For coated models, handle carefully to avoid damaging the protective finish, and do not install any nozzle with a cracked bulb or missing liquid. A small air bubble should be visible in the bulb when the nozzle is held horizontally.
During construction, keep the nozzle opening protected from dirt and debris. Before system acceptance testing, remove any protective covers to allow free water flow. Once installed, include the nozzle in the regular inspection and maintenance program as required by NFPA 25 or local codes. Inspect for obstructions, corrosion, physical damage, and correct orientation. Nozzles must never be painted, plated, or modified after leaving the factory, as this can affect performance.
