Viking Freedom Residential Concealed Horizontal Sidewall (VK480) Fire Sprinkler Head

This Viking Freedom Residential Concealed Sidewall Fire Sprinkler features a fusible link activating at 165F (74C) with a 4.0 K-Factor, and 1/2 in. NPT threads. Each concealed sidewall head features a brass body and brass deflector. The Sprinkler Identification Number (SIN) is VK480. This is a residential response, standard coverage sprinkler with a maximum working water pressure of 175 PSI.

The VK480 concealed horizontal sidewall fire sprinkler delivers effective, affordable defense in sidewall concealed residential sprinkler systems. Using a heat-activated fusible link assembly, this automatic fire sprinkler opens when ambient temperatures reach 165F (74C), drenching the area surrounding a fire to keep it in its place of origin. When installed properly, this fire sprinkler head maintains listings and approvals from cULus (Category VKKW), and is LPCB Approved (Certificate 096y/01). When using Viking Residential Concealed Horizontal Sidewall Sprinkler VK480 for systems designed to NFPA 13D or NFPA 13R, apply the listed areas of coverage and minimum water supply requirements shown in the Approval Chart in the datasheet. This concealed sidewall head has a maximum working pressure of 175 PSI (12.1 BAR) UL and connects to wet piping systems.

Viking Freedom Residential Concealed Sidewall (VK480) Sprinkler Installation and Other Information

During installation be aware that over tightening will cause permanent damage to the 1/2 in. NPT threads and/or the fire sprinklers themselves. Use the manufacturer approved installation wrench and tighten to a maximum torque of 14 ft-lb (19 N-m). Refer to the data sheet for additional storage and installation information.

This residential concealed horizontal sidewall sprinkler is available at a 165F (74C) and 205F (96C), temperature. To select your temperature, visit the “Options” section at the top of this product page. Additionally, use the Cover Plate option to select a Cover Plate finish and temperature.
