Overview

1/4 in. Hydraulic Quick-Connect Brass Fitting installs quickly to many pitot tube kits used in flow testing of fire hose nozzles, fire hydrants, and other open orifices on water-based systems. This quick-connect and quick-disconnect fitting is made from brass and is designed to connect an 1/4 in. NPT-threaded male component to a 1/4 in. NPT-threaded female component with a brass sleeve and stainless-steel locking balls.

Each 1/4 in. Hydraulic Quick-Connect Brass Fitting comes with a nipple and couple designed for easy use and extend gauge life and accuracy when used with the pressure gauge. Stainless steel locking balls make it easy to rotate connected gauges or other components with minimal torque.

This high-quality 1/4 in. Hydraulic Quick-Connect Brass Fitting may also be used as a connection with a bleeder assembly. Components are rated at a maximum working pressure of 300 PSI and are designed for use with low-pressure fluids and compressed air at temperatures between -40F and 250F.

What are Pitot Kits used for?

Pitot gauge kits are among the most trusted flow testing solutions. They’re portable, powerful, and easy to use. By positioning the blade in front of a water-flowing orifice, ITM professionals can read the pressure of moving water. Those pressure readings, in turn, can be converted to gallons per minute (GPM), a measure of how quickly water flows. Lower-than-expected GPM readings may indicate obstructions, leaks, or rust in the network of pipes serving firefighting equipment.
