6 in. Shotgun Riser Check Valves for Fire Protection Systems

This 6 in. Grooved x Grooved durable ductile iron Riser Check Valve, sometimes called a Shotgun Riser, ensures that water flowing from fire department connections (FDCs), bypass connections, gravity pressure tanks, and pump discharge connections flows to your sprinklers, and not to the street.

With a rated working water pressure of 300 PSI, this shotgun riser features a non-slamming, spring-loaded clapper that prevents backflow when installed in wet-pip and/or dry-pipe fire sprinkler systems with grooved connecting pipe ends. This check valve can be installed vertically or horizontally, and when installed with a trim kit, can provide a compact alternative to alarm check valves when a water motor alarm is not required.
