The Reliable™ Model GFR Horizontal Sidewall fire sprinkler (SIN R3135) is a quick response, standard spray sprinkler designed to deliver dependable fire protection in light and ordinary hazard applications. Part number GFRHB features a 5.6 K-factor (80 metric) and a 165°F (74°C) temperature-rated 3.0 mm glass bulb with a bronze finish that provides durability and resistance to corrosion while maintaining a professional appearance in exposed installations.
This horizontal sidewall sprinkler is engineered for installation along walls or beams, projecting water outward in a quarter-spherical spray pattern that effectively covers the area below and in front of the sprinkler. The glass bulb activates when ambient temperature reaches its rated point, releasing the sealing assembly and allowing water to discharge through the deflector for fast and uniform distribution. The sprinkler installs using a 1/2-inch NPT thread (ISO 7-1 R1/2 optional) and is intended for wet pipe systems when installed and maintained in accordance with NFPA 13 and the authority having jurisdiction.
Listings and approvals include cULus Listing and FM Approval, verifying compliance with key global fire protection standards. The maximum working pressure for the R3135 Horizontal Sidewall sprinkler is 175 psi (12 bar).
The Model GFR series is available in Bronze, Chrome, and White finishes with temperature ratings of 155°F, 165°F, 200°F, and 286°F, providing flexibility across various installation and environmental conditions.
For proper installation, use the manufacturer-recommended sprinkler wrench to prevent frame damage and ensure correct engagement. Avoid over-tightening or applying side pressure to the frame, and handle carefully to protect the glass bulb from impact. Do not install any sprinkler that appears damaged, corroded, or field-painted. Store sprinklers in a clean, dry environment and maintain the system in accordance with NFPA 25 and local code requirements.
