Viking F-1 Water Shields for XG Head Guards
This Viking fire sprinkler water shield helps protect fire sprinklers from discharge from nearby sprinklers, in the event that they go off, protecting the heat element from not activating properly. See manufacturer datasheet for complete installation instructions. This water shield has an outer diameter of 3 in.
This specific water shield is for use with XT1 1/2 in. pendent fire sprinklers. Other versions of this XT1 water shield may be compatible with different sprinklers. See product options on this page for all available versions of this shield.
The Viking F-1 water shield, when combined with the XG head guard, is cULus Listed and/or FM Approved for use with the following SINs (Sprinkler Identification Numbers) VK1021, VK3021, VK2022, VK3521, VK2021, VK3522
Any place with a high risk for impact/damage to a protruding fire sprinkler is recommended to have a head guard. That typically includes hotels, schools, gyms, warehouses, or any place with low headroom or clearance. Any place with close-proximity sprinklers are recommended to have a water shield. Sprinkler water shields and guards are not designed to be used on sprinklers installed in recessed escutcheons.
