1-1/2 in. NPT Butterfly Valves for Fire Protection Systems
This 1-1/2 in. Threaded (NPT) durable ductile iron Butterfly Valve with Tamper Switch offers precision flow control of gas, fluids, and semi-solids, specifically in fire protection/fire sprinkler systems and standpipes. With a rated working water pressure of 300 PSI (Grooved, Wafer) or 175 PSI (NPT Threaded) and maximum rated working temperature of 212F (100C) (Grooved) or 176F (80C) (NPT Threaded and Wafer), this valve is suitable for indoor or outdoor use in water-based systems, including as a control valve in fire protection systems.
The handwheel assembly delivers a slow open and slow close, forming a leak-tight seal between the Iron disc and rubber O-ring. A fitted tamper switch allows this threaded Butterfly Valve to activate a local alarm bell or horn when the valve comes to a partial or complete close. The bright-yellow position indicator offers an at-a-glance indication of the valve's position. When closed, the down-flow end of the pipe can be replaced without draining the entire system.
Working at 125/250 VAC, this valve features dual supervisory switches and wiring, making it easy to connect to a fire control panel.
