CPVC Union — 1-1/2 in. Socket — Spears FlameGuard™ — 4257-015
The Spears FlameGuard™ 1-1/2-inch CPVC union connects two sections of CPVC pipe in wet fire sprinkler systems and allows for easy disassembly when maintenance is needed. Made from fire-protection-grade CPVC, it provides strong resistance to corrosion and long-lasting durability. The socket ends are solvent-cemented with ASTM F493-approved cement to create a tight, leak-free bond. A threaded union nut allows the connection to be taken apart without cutting the pipe. This fitting is UL Listed and FM Approved for use in systems designed to NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, and NFPA 13D standards. It is rated for a maximum working pressure of 175 psi and a maximum temperature of 150°F.
Follow Spears FlameGuard™ installation instructions for pipe cleaning, cementing, and assembly. Hand-tighten the nut evenly to form a secure seal, avoiding overtightening that could damage the threads or gasket. After curing, pressure-test the system to confirm a watertight connection. This union is ideal for residential and light-hazard systems using CPVC piping, providing a code-compliant, corrosion-resistant, and serviceable connection that meets UL and FM requirements for safe fire protection performance.
