CPVC Union — 1-1/4 in. Socket — Spears FlameGuard™ — 4257-012
The Spears FlameGuard™ 1-1/4-inch CPVC union is designed to connect and disconnect CPVC pipe sections in wet fire sprinkler systems without cutting the pipe. It is made from fire-protection-grade CPVC for high strength and resistance to corrosion. Both socket ends are solvent-cemented using ASTM F493-approved cement for a permanent seal, while the union nut provides easy disassembly when needed. This fitting is UL Listed and FM Approved for systems following NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, and NFPA 13D standards. It can handle up to 175 psi of working pressure and temperatures up to 150°F. The union is suitable for residential and light-hazard fire sprinkler installations using nonmetallic piping.
Install following Spears FlameGuard™ recommendations for pipe cleaning, cementing, and tightening. Hand-tighten the nut securely to create a reliable seal, avoiding overtightening that could damage the fitting. After curing, pressure-test the system to verify a leak-free connection.
