Solo 200 Universal Detector Removal & Installation Tool

This Solo 200 Universal Detector Removal & Installation tool aids in the removal or installation of the vast majority of common detectors found on the market today. Using its color-coded rotating heads, this tool provides a combination of sizes and settings to suit the different detectors, and uniquely adapts to different models, shapes, and sizes of smoke, CO, and Heat detectors. This innovative product is designed to attach to Solo Access Poles to help with areas that are hard to reach and can even reach detectors at an angle using a pivot function when combined with the access pole.

How to Install or Remove Smoke & CO Detectors Using the Solo 200

Over time, dirt and debris can build up on a detector and decrease its sensitivity. Sometimes, this can lead to the need to replace a detector or removal for cleaning purposes. The Solo 200 is the perfect tool to make removal or installation of detectors quick & easy and save a headache for the tough to reach or high areas.

When using the Solo 200, always wear appropriate protective equipment when working above head height and ensure the area around you is clear to avoid injury.

Step 1. Adjust the detector grips to the desired sized by lifting and rotating each one.

Step 2. Insert the Removal tool into a Solo access pole. Note, this tool features a pivoting function for angled areas. For straight applications, push the top button into the pole to prevent pivoting. For angled applications, push the lower button into the pole to access the pivoting function.

Step 3. To remove a detector from its base, wrap the grips (heads) of the tool around the detector & ensure the detector is centered into the tool. Twist the detector counterclockwise to release the detector and lower carefully.

To install a detector onto its base, wrap the grips (heads) of the tool around the detector & ensure the detector is centered into the tool. Be sure that the detector is aligned to the base to prevent cross-threading. Twist the detector clockwise until the detector fits securely.
