The Tyco AV-1-300 Alarm Check Valve is a durable, high-capacity valve designed for use in wet fire sprinkler systems. This 8-inch model features a flanged inlet and a grooved outlet, making it suitable for systems that transition from flanged riser pipe to grooved downstream piping. Its ductile iron body is rated for a maximum working pressure of 300 PSI and is built to meet the needs of large-scale fire protection systems where reliability and performance are critical.

During normal system conditions, the valve's clapper remains closed to prevent reverse flow from the sprinkler system back into the water supply. When water begins to move forward due to sprinkler activation, the clapper opens and water flows into the system. At the same time, a portion of the flow is diverted through a factory-installed bypass trim, which can be connected to a hydraulic alarm bell or pressure switch (not included) to signal a waterflow event.

This model supports both horizontal and vertical installations. In horizontal setups, the drain connection must face downward. In vertical installations, flow direction must be upward. This installation flexibility allows the AV-1-300 to integrate into a variety of system configurations while remaining compliant with NFPA 13 standards.

The valve’s auxiliary trim ports—used for alarm activation, testing, and drainage—are all NPT threaded, ensuring compatibility with commonly used fire protection system components. The internal clapper and trim parts are accessible for maintenance without removing the valve from the piping, reducing system downtime during inspections and service.
