The Tyco AV-1-300 Alarm Check Valve is a key component for wet pipe fire sprinkler systems, offering dependable flow control and integrated alarm signaling. This model features a 4-inch flanged inlet and a 4-inch grooved outlet, allowing it to connect directly to flanged riser equipment while also supporting grooved downstream pipe connections. With a ductile iron body and a rated working pressure of 300 PSI, this valve is built to meet the demands of modern fire protection systems.

During normal operation, the clapper inside the valve remains closed to prevent reverse water flow. When a sprinkler activates and water begins to flow into the system, the clapper opens, and a portion of the water is diverted through a built-in bypass trim. This trim can be connected to a hydraulic alarm bell or pressure switch (not included), triggering local or remote notifications that the system is in operation.

The AV-1-300 supports both horizontal and vertical installations. For horizontal configurations, the drain must face downward. In vertical setups, water must flow upward through the valve. This flexibility helps meet layout requirements across a wide range of system designs while maintaining compliance with NFPA 13 standards.

The included trim connections—used for alarm activation, test points, and drainage—are all NPT threaded for compatibility with standard fittings and components. Maintenance is simplified thanks to a serviceable design that allows access to internal parts without removing the valve from the piping.
