How the Victaulic Alarm Check Valve Works

Under normal operating conditions, the clapper remains closed to prevent reverse flow into the supply piping. When a sprinkler activates and water begins flowing forward, the clapper opens. At the same time, the valve’s internal trim diverts water to the alarm line, which may be connected to a water motor alarm gong or an electric pressure switch (sold separately). This provides immediate notification of waterflow, meeting NFPA 13 requirements for fire protection systems.

Installation and Maintenance

The Series 751 is designed for vertical installations with upward flow through the valve. Grooved end connections allow quick installation with standard couplings, reducing labor and material costs compared to flanged systems.
