CPVC Reducing Bushing — 1 in. x 1/2 in. Brass Thread — Spears FlameGuard™ — 4238-130BR
The Spears FlameGuard™ 1 in. x 1/2 in. CPVC reducing bushing provides a transition from larger CPVC fittings to smaller brass-threaded components in wet fire sprinkler systems. Constructed from fire-protection-grade CPVC, it offers superior corrosion resistance and long-term reliability. The brass female thread insert provides strength and heat resistance for secure sprinkler or metal fitting connections. The spigot end is solvent-cemented into a CPVC socket fitting using ASTM F493-approved cement for a watertight joint. UL Listed and FM Approved, this fitting complies with NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, and NFPA 13D standards. Rated for 175 psi and a maximum temperature of 150°F, it is designed for residential and light-hazard sprinkler applications.
Install according to Spears FlameGuard™ guidelines for cleaning, cementing, and thread sealing. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant and avoid overtightening to prevent thread damage. The brass insert ensures a durable, long-lasting connection that resists stress cracking. This reducing bushing provides a corrosion-resistant, code-compliant, and UL/FM-approved transition between CPVC pipe and threaded components in wet fire sprinkler systems.
