The Spears FlameGuard™ SofTorque™ 1 in. x 1/2 in. CPVC reducing bushing is designed to connect CPVC pipe or fittings to smaller threaded components in wet fire sprinkler systems. Made from fire-protection-grade CPVC, it features a gasket-sealed reinforced plastic thread that provides a watertight, reusable connection. The SofTorque™ design limits overtightening to prevent cracking or stress on the fitting. The spigot end connects to CPVC fittings using ASTM F493-compliant solvent cement for a durable and leak-free seal. UL Listed and FM Approved, this fitting meets NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, and NFPA 13D standards and is rated for 175 psi and up to 150°F service temperature.
Install in accordance with Spears FlameGuard™ instructions for cleaning, cementing, and assembly. Apply CPVC-compatible thread sealant and tighten only to recommended torque limits. The gasketed thread design ensures reliable sealing while minimizing installer error. This reducing bushing provides a corrosion-resistant, code-compliant, and UL/FM-approved connection for CPVC wet fire sprinkler systems in residential and light-hazard applications.
