CPVC TorqueSafe™ Reducing Bushing — 1 in. x 1/2 in. Gasket Sealed Brass Thread — Spears FlameGuard™ — 4238-130BR G
The Spears FlameGuard™ TorqueSafe™ 1 in. x 1/2 in. CPVC reducing bushing is used to connect CPVC piping to brass-threaded components in wet fire sprinkler systems. It includes a brass insert with a gasket-sealed female thread that provides a watertight and reusable connection. The TorqueSafe™ design features a built-in stop to prevent overtightening, reducing stress on the CPVC body. Made from fire-protection-grade CPVC, it provides excellent corrosion resistance and long service life. The spigot end connects to CPVC fittings with ASTM F493-approved solvent cement for a leak-free bond. UL Listed and FM Approved, this fitting meets NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, and NFPA 13D requirements. Rated for 175 psi and 150°F, it is suitable for residential and light-hazard applications.
Follow Spears FlameGuard™ installation procedures for cleaning, cementing, and tightening. Use approved CPVC sealant and maintain proper torque limits for reliable sealing. The gasket seal provides consistent performance while reducing risk of thread damage. This reducing bushing delivers a corrosion-resistant, UL/FM-approved, and code-compliant connection for CPVC wet fire sprinkler systems.
