The Tyco AV-1-300 Alarm Check Valve is designed for use in wet fire sprinkler systems and provides dependable, automatic operation. This 2½ inch model features grooved connections on both the inlet and outlet, making it ideal for systems using flexible or rigid grooved couplings. With a ductile iron body and a rated working pressure of 300 PSI, it provides reliable protection in a wide range of commercial and industrial fire protection applications.

This valve serves two critical functions: it prevents backflow into the water supply and signals alarm conditions when water begins to move through the system. When pressure increases during a sprinkler activation, the internal clapper opens to allow forward flow. A portion of this water is diverted through a built-in bypass trim, which can be connected to a hydraulic alarm bell or pressure switch (not included) to notify building occupants or monitoring systems of system activation.

The AV-1-300 supports both horizontal and vertical installation. For horizontal use, the drain outlet must face downward. For vertical configurations, the flow direction must be upward through the valve. This flexibility makes it easier to integrate into a variety of wet system riser layouts while maintaining compliance with NFPA 13 installation requirements.

All auxiliary ports in the trim assembly—such as those for alarm lines, test valves, and drains—are NPT threaded to ensure compatibility with standard fittings. The valve’s internal components can be accessed for inspection or maintenance without removing it from the piping system, helping reduce service time during routine checks.
