Simultaneously, water is diverted through an internal bypass trim, which can be piped to a hydraulic alarm bell or pressure switch (not included) to provide an alert of system activation.

This valve can be installed in either a horizontal or vertical orientation, provided the flow direction and drain positioning are correct. For horizontal installations, the drain port must point downward. For vertical setups, water must flow upward through the valve. This flexibility simplifies integration into riser assemblies and other system layouts.

The trim assembly includes ports for alarm, test, and drain lines, all of which are NPT threaded for compatibility with standard fittings. The internal components are accessible without removing the valve from the piping, which helps streamline routine maintenance and inspections.
