The Tyco AV-1-300 Alarm Check Valve is a robust and reliable component for wet pipe fire sprinkler systems. This 8-inch model features flanged connections on both the inlet and outlet, making it ideal for systems that require fully flanged, rigid piping. Constructed with a ductile iron body and rated for a maximum working pressure of 300 PSI, this valve is built to perform in large-scale commercial, industrial, and institutional fire protection applications.

In standard operation, the internal clapper remains closed to prevent water from flowing backward into the supply. When a sprinkler activates and water begins to flow forward, the clapper opens. Simultaneously, the valve’s internal bypass trim diverts a portion of the flow to an alarm line, which can be connected to a hydraulic alarm bell or pressure switch (not included). This provides essential notification of waterflow in the system.

The AV-1-300 is approved for both horizontal and vertical installations. In horizontal applications, the drain connection must face downward. For vertical use, water must flow upward through the valve. This installation flexibility makes it easy to incorporate into a wide range of system designs, while supporting full compliance with NFPA 13 requirements.

All trim connections, including those for the alarm, test valve, and main drain, are NPT threaded for compatibility with standard fire protection fittings. Internal components can be accessed without removing the valve from the piping system, streamlining inspection and maintenance.
