The Spears FlameGuard™ SofTorque™ 1 in. x 1/2 in. female sprinkler head adapter is designed to connect CPVC pipe to sprinkler heads in wet fire sprinkler systems. Made from fire-protection-grade CPVC, it features a gasket-sealed reinforced plastic thread for a leak-free and reusable connection. The SofTorque™ design helps prevent overtightening, reducing stress on the fitting body during installation. The socket end joins to CPVC pipe using ASTM F493-compliant solvent cement for a watertight, permanent bond. This fitting is UL Listed and FM Approved for systems meeting NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, and NFPA 13D requirements. Rated for 175 psi and 150°F, it is suitable for residential and light-hazard installations.
Install following Spears FlameGuard™ procedures for pipe cleaning, solvent cementing, and sprinkler assembly. Apply CPVC-compatible sealant and tighten only to specified torque limits.
