The Spears FlameGuard™ SofTorque™ 1 in. x 1/2 in. spigot female adapter provides a connection between CPVC piping and sprinkler heads in wet fire sprinkler systems. This adapter features a gasket-sealed reinforced plastic thread for a watertight, reusable seal. The SofTorque™ design limits overtightening to prevent stress and cracking in the fitting body. Made from fire-protection-grade CPVC, it provides high strength, corrosion resistance, and long-term reliability. The spigot end connects to CPVC socket fittings with ASTM F493-compliant solvent cement, forming a watertight joint. UL Listed and FM Approved, this adapter meets NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, and NFPA 13D requirements. It is rated for 175 psi and a maximum service temperature of 150°F.
Follow Spears FlameGuard™ instructions for cleaning, solvent cementing, and assembly. Apply CPVC-safe thread sealant and tighten only to specified torque limits. The gasket ensures consistent sealing and helps prevent leaks or thread damage.
