The Spears FlameGuard™ SofTorque™ 3/4 in. x 1/2 in. female sprinkler head adapter features a gasket-sealed reinforced plastic thread for connecting CPVC pipe to sprinkler heads in wet fire sprinkler systems. The SofTorque™ design helps prevent overtightening and minimizes stress on the fitting during installation. Constructed from fire-protection-grade CPVC, it provides excellent corrosion resistance and long service life. The socket end connects to CPVC pipe using ASTM F493-approved solvent cement, forming a watertight, permanent joint. UL Listed and FM Approved, this adapter meets NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, and NFPA 13D standards and is rated for 175 psi working pressure and up to 150°F service temperature.
Install according to Spears FlameGuard™ guidelines for cleaning, cementing, and sprinkler head assembly. Apply a CPVC-compatible thread sealant and tighten only to the manufacturer’s torque specification. The gasket ensures consistent sealing and reduces the chance of thread damage. This fitting provides a code-compliant, corrosion-resistant, and UL/FM-approved connection for CPVC wet fire sprinkler systems used in residential and light-hazard applications.
