The Spears FlameGuard™ 1-1/2 in. CPVC transition union connects CPVC piping to metal threaded components in wet fire sprinkler systems. Made from fire-protection-grade CPVC with a precision-machined metal insert, it provides a strong, corrosion-resistant, and serviceable joint. The socket end connects to CPVC pipe with ASTM F493-approved solvent cement to form a watertight bond. The union design allows for easy disassembly during maintenance or system modification. UL Listed and FM Approved, this fitting meets NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, and NFPA 13D installation standards. Rated for 175 psi and 150°F, it’s suitable for residential and light-hazard sprinkler systems.
Install according to Spears FlameGuard™ instructions for proper pipe cleaning, cementing, and thread sealing. Use CPVC-compatible sealant and avoid overtightening. The metal insert provides thread durability and prevents deformation under pressure.
