Product Description
Quick-Disconnect Bleeder Valve attaches to 1/4" female National Pipe Thread (NPT) outlets, releasing trapped air or debris from water-based systems. With a brass ball valve designed to bleed excess pressure and a quick-disconnect fitting designed to hold a 1/4" NPT pressure gauge, bleeder valves are an important part of a complete cap gauge for static pressure tests.
This Quick-Disconnect Bleeder Valve directs water to one of two 1/4" female NPT (FNPT) outlets: the bleeder port, which releases water through a 1/4" (6.35 mm) brass ball valve, or the gauge port. The durable brass quick-disconnect fitting at the gauge port facilitates quick and easy removal of the pressure gauge (sold separately) from the bleeder valve. Made by Parker Hannafin, a global manufacturer of high-quality couplings, this quick-disconnect fitting protects pressure gauges against unnecessary wear, promoting long life and long-lasting calibration.
To conduct static pressure tests using this Quick-Disconnect Bleeder Valve, connect it, along with an appropriate gauge and test cap, to the hydrant or another outlet. With the ball valve open, begin flowing water through the bleeder. After purging air and debris, close the ball valve to direct pressure to the gauge. When testing concludes, protect your gauge against pressure surges by re-opening the ball valve before shutting off the supply of water.
