The Spears FlameGuard™ TorqueSafe™ 1-1/4 in. x 1/2 in. 90° sprinkler head elbow connects CPVC piping to brass sprinkler heads in wet fire sprinkler systems. It features a brass insert with a gasket-sealed female thread that provides a watertight, reusable connection. The TorqueSafe™ design incorporates a built-in stop to prevent overtightening and reduce stress on the CPVC body. Made from fire-protection-grade CPVC, it provides excellent corrosion resistance and strength for long-term service. The socket end bonds to CPVC pipe with ASTM F493-compliant solvent cement for a durable, leak-free seal. UL Listed and FM Approved, this fitting meets NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, and NFPA 13D standards. It is rated for 175 psi and a maximum temperature of 150°F.
Install according to Spears FlameGuard™ installation instructions for pipe preparation, cementing, and sprinkler attachment. Use CPVC-approved thread sealant and adhere to the manufacturer’s torque recommendations. The gasket seal ensures a consistent, leak-free connection while minimizing thread wear.
