Viking Sprinkler Head Wrench 16208W/R is a specialized fire sprinkler installation tool for use with select Viking concealed horizontal sidewall heads. When paired with a 1/2 in. ratchet (not included), this socket can quickly and safely secure any of four commercial and residential fire sprinklers.

Fire sprinkler wrenches allow contractors to install heads easily and without damaging the heads themselves. But NFPA 13 also requires building owners to keep anywhere from 6 to 24 spare sprinkler heads on-site, as well as a supply of corresponding sprinkler head wrenches. Adhering to this requirement ensures that all necessary components are ready and available for the immediate removal and replacement of faulty or activated sprinkler heads.

How do I use the sprinkler head wrench?
Always follow the instructions provided in the datasheet for your specific Viking-brand model. Installation with Viking's 16208W/R wrench generally follows these steps:
- Leave the protective cap on. Place the part of the wrench marked TOP at the top of the sprinkler head (also marked TOP).
- Slide the wrench over the body and protective sprinkler cap.
- Twist the ratchet until the sprinkler head is firmly attached to the piping, taking care not to over-tighten.
- Ensure that the part of the sprinkler marked TOP is upright when the head is fully secured.
